Gambling harms – the hidden addiction putting your business and your employees at risk

Unlike drug or alcohol addiction, the signs of gambling harms are incredibly difficult to spot. There is also a huge amount of stigma associated with gambling addiction, so the likelihood of your employees disclosing this is very slim. In this session, you can listen to a lived experience perspective of gambling harms and get some helpful tips on what you can do to support your employees and protect your business.

  • 27% of employees have been gambling while at work in the last 4 weeks
  • For every one person experiencing gambling harms, there are between 6-10 people also affected, work colleagues, friends, family
  • Few companies (under 10%) have policies or training on the issue, which has a hidden cost of potentially millions
  • Gambling harms is now a major public health issue screened for by GP’s – so why aren’t more people talking about it in workplaces?
  • Very few EAP programmes consider the issue – missing help and support that could save lives
  • Early conversations based on experience of how to have them, are vital

Why domestic abuse is a workplace issue – and what employers can do about it

Domestic violence affects 1 in 5 employees across the UK, meaning that virtually every workplace will have both victim-survivors and perpetrators. Domestic abuse is fundamentally a business issue, the cost of lost output due to domestic abuse to businesses in England alone is a staggering £17 billion per year. For someone experiencing domestic abuse, work may be their only safe place, and employers are uniquely positioned to take effective action on domestic abuse and protect their employees. Informed directly by survivors and nearly 2000 employer members, EIDA has created a host of resources every employer can use to take effective action on domestic abuse – for business and for society.

This powerful workshop will cover the following issues:

  • Essential employer tools for any organisation - practical steps to create a supportive and proactive workplace response
  • Domestic abuse and the role of the employer - why employers play a vital part in taking effective action on domestic abuse
  • Spotting the signs - how might you spot the signs someone is experiencing abuse in the workplace?

Beyond sentiment – getting to the heart of what really drives culture

Have you found yourself caught in the 'you said: we did' cycle trying to evolve your culture, with employee feedback or a culture audit that just gives you a list of surface level fixes that you know won't really change anything?  Let’s be honest—most culture audits and employee surveys often don’t tell you what you really need to know. They focus on how people feel in the moment, but they don’t uncover the deeper drivers that shape the way your organisation actually operates. That’s why so many businesses get caught in the sentiment trap - measuring engagement scores, tweaking benefits, and hoping for the best.

Join us for a fresh take on diagnosing and driving culture that actually works. In this session we'll  equip you with a practical, structured approach to uncovering and influencing the real drivers of your culture - so you can move beyond reactive culture audits and start making a meaningful impact.

Giving you full access to our Culture Catalyst Scorecard, we’ll help you cut through the smoke and focus on the elements that truly drive culture in your business.

This workshop will be covering:

  • How to pinpoint the real forces driving your culture - beyond just employee sentiment surveys, using a data-driven approach
  • Why focusing on culture mechanics (not just moods) is key - and how to map leadership tone, management impact, colleague readiness, and systems & processes
  • A simple but powerful framework - to help you decode what’s happening in your organisation and identify the biggest opportunities for cultural alignment
  • Actionable steps to move from reactive audits to proactive transformation - so you can influence your whole organisational system rather than relying on short-term interventions

Returning to work after a period of absence is one of the most critical moments in the employee-employer relationship.
